Raise your hand if you are sweating, tired & feeling reluctant to do much right now. I’m hoping right now that I’m not the only one haha!
While working, I decided to write about a trend that absolutely anybody could try as it is so so simple & so so cheap! And with that, I give to you this:
The golden ankle cuff. Commonly seen among many celebrities right now as of recent. Stars such as Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez & Kim Kardashian have been spotted sporting the trend! As simple as it looks, the cuffs addd a fabulous touch to whatever it is teamed with! With prices as low as £1 it is an absolute bargain! Below you can find pictures of the mentioned celebrities rocking the cuffs:
Hello to all those reading this! I’d like to introduce you a great website! Readers meet Mallzee. Mallzee meet readers.
If you haven’t heard of Mallzee before, it is a website that is great for finding clothes for different styles! Upon your initial log in you will be shown various pieces of clothing, giving you the option to “like” or “dislike” them. Once you have completed this process, Mallzee will present the brands that they think you’ll like.
You then have the freedom to look through the different products supplied by the brands & once you decide to buy a product, Mallzee will redirect to the brand’s site in order for you to make your purchase! It is like having your own personal shopper without even having to leave your home!
Another fab feature of the site is that you can shop with your friends! You can recommend items for each other, help each other know which items work & which don’t. Also, the more shop on Mallzee, the more THEY PAY YOU!! How brilliant is that?!?! The way this works is that: As you buy items using Mallzee, they give you “Mallzee dollars” which go towards the items you buy in the future. Below you can find a screenshot of the homepage:
As you can see from the screenshot the homepage has a professional look to it & doesn’t have too much going on that could put you off. The signing up process is simple & quick. I just generally think that the site is brilliant!
If you would like to sign up to the site, please click here! I would love to hear your thoughts on it so please do get in contact! 🙂
Today was the taster day for college & I was so so so exicted!!
I clambered out of bed at 6:30AM (which I haven’t had to do in a while now, so I found it a struggle hahaha) & proceeded to get ready for the day ahead.
The day had gone really well, I got the bus on time nothing had gone wrong during the day so far… Too good to be true unfortunately. I got off the bus got halfway to college before realising “Uh oh! My portfolio is still on the bus!”
After finding the bus company’s number I was shown to where the taster day would be taking place. The longer I spent there, the more I just wanted to start the course!
We spent the first part of the day introducing ourselves to the rest of the class & looking at the types of work that we will be doing throughout our time at the college). We then discussed what we would be doing for our first project once the course properly starts in September which is to design a Christmas window display (everything from the props to the outfits the mannequins will be wearing)! The remainder of the taster day was spent creating a mood board of ideas that provide inspiration for when it comes to finalising our displays.
The eager person I am have already made a start on the mood board & are in the process of weighing up different ideas that I feel could work for the display. I have also joined Bloglovin’ since getting home today, so if you would like to follow ‘Just Having A Giraffe’ on there please click the link:
Ok! I apologise for the big break between the sales posts! I’ll get straight on with it!
Part five of the sales mini series is on the sale currently on at River Island! It works out that the sale is around 50% for the majority of the items (bargain)! Below, you can find some items that I have picked out:
(Copyright of the above photos belong to River Island)
The camo print sweatshirt is a brilliant item as the camo print is currently being used in many different items such as jackets, tops & shoes. The sweatshirt is versatile (one thing that I absolutely LOVE about items of clothing)! This particular item was reduced from £28.00 to £15.00!
The skater skirt looks great, catches eyes with the bright colour & again is versatile! The item looks young & fun without looking garish. Originally £25.00, the price has been cut down to £10.00!
And with that, this concludes the sales mini series! If you would like to see more of the items in the sale, please click here for the women’s section & here!
Part four is here! This time we’re focused on Next’s clearance sale (as suggested with the title). Most items in the sale are half price if not less! So without further ado, let’s take a look at the two items that I have picked out:
(Copyright of the above photos belong to Next)
The female’s tunic is brilliant for various reasons. It looks delicate & elegant & can be dressed up or dressed down (gotta love versatility)! The sale has brought this item down from £55.00 to £25.00!
The male’s shirt is again brilliant for various reasons. The brown on the collar means that you can brown as well as blue into your outfit (if you wanted to colour co-ordinate)! Originally £38.00 this shirt now costs only £11.00!
If you do want to check out the sale (I would really recommend it) please click here (so happy to have figured out how to put links in like that).
Welcome to part three of five on the current sales going on! As you can see from the title, this post is on Topman’s sale. It is most definitely one that shouldn’t be missed as you will be getting 70% off (bargain right)!! Below you can find an outfit I’ve made after looking through the items in the items:

The stripe pattern on the t-shirt is simple & fun but looks stylish at the same time. The geek print on the t-shirt also adds to the t-shirt’s appeal. The 70% sale reduces this gem from £18.00 to £5.00!
I couldn’t pick any other trousers than denim jeans of course (major denim lover over here)! The light wash gives them an aged look which adds another trend into the outfit making it even more stylish! Originally £38.00, these jeans now cost £12.00!
I thought two things when picking the shoes. The first was that the shoes should be suitable for the season. The second consideration was that the colours of the shoes tied in with the other items in the outfit (good ol’ colour coordination). When I saw these espadrilles I knew instantly that they were perfect for the ensemble as not only do they have the same colour scheme as the other items, but also the same patterns! Also, they are perfect for summer! This pair of espadrilles have gone from £12.00 to £6.00!
This is part two of the five part sale posts. This time I will be writing about Alexander McQueen’s sale. The reductions in this sale are anything up to 60% off! Below, you will find some items I have selected from the sale:

The male’s shirt is a fab neutral colour giving it versatility in your wardrobe. It has a skull polka-dot pattern which gives it that authentic McQueen look suggests “young professional” & would look great when pieced together in either a formal or casual look. The 60% sale has brought the price of this item down from £315.00 to £129.00!
The female’s top has a formal & seductive look due to the honeycomb mesh corset. This piece has appeal for all types of people & can work with a range of looks. The top was originally priced at £1,120.00 & is now priced £449.00!
If you would like to see the other items in the sale please click the following links:
That’s right! There are numerous amounts of sales going on currently & I have picked out five that I would HIGHLY recommend checking out!
First of all, is Burberry. There are pieces from all the different collections that have been significantly reduced. Such as the items below:

The embroidered lace shirt is stylish, sexy & sophisticated. The green lace gives a slight illusion that whoever wears it, looks as if they are wearing ivy which makes the shirt more intriguing & appealing. Originally this shirt cost £895.00 but the sale means it now costs £275.00!
The trench coat looks stylish, classy & unique. The nice neutral tone allows the coat to go with almost every outfit you may choose to wear. The unique quality the coat possesses is that when you turn the collar up it is a metallic yellowy gold. Since being put in the sale the coat it has gone from £1,495.00 to £450.00!
It’s that time of year again… GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL!! Thousands & thousands of people make their way to the various festivals year after year with the hope that their day/weekend spent there will include good weather. Even though I myself am not attending the events, I didn’t see the harm in putting together outfits that could be worn during them.
(Copyright of the photos used in the collage belong to Next)
I decided to go with the statement “Less is more” for both the outfits & seeing as the festivals are based on music, I didn’t feel it necessary to put together outfits that would make those wearing them look overdressed. Yes it is definitely risky to wear whites to an event renowned for mud but there is method behind my madness. If for example it was sunny for the whole of the festival (wishful thinking I know) wearing white won’t take in as much of the sun’s rays, meaning you won’t overheat during the activities. Below are the links to each item in the collages in case any caught your eye.
Tuesday 18th June 2013. The third & final day of the June 2013 London Collections: Men event. The last of the collections gave the event a great ending. The designers showing their collections on day 3 were the following:
Pringle of Scotland
Fashion East Menswear Installations
Baartmans and Siegel

As you can see from the past three days, is that the smart casual look is going nowhere (Woop woop)!
Shaun Samson impressed not only the ladies, but everybody, with their newest collection. Paul Smith’s new suits gave us a hunger for formal wear. Pringle of Scotland made a tartan triumph. Fashion East Menswear Installations a great colour combo. James Long used a range of different fabrics & materials to make black magic. Baartmans and Siegel created formal wear that looks great for any occasion. Christopher Raeburn mixed neutral colours with a bright blue to give a fresh look. The wet look of the Christopher Shannon’s new collection gives a new flair to everyday wear. Burberry’s latest Prorsum collection looked classy, colourful & smart while at the same time casual. The collection went down a treat with the audience & I personally love every look from the show. With the frequent use of white in their collection, Nicole Farhi created a clean & fresh look. The S/S 14 Chester Barrie collection was made up of colours complimenting each other. The newest E. Tautz collection looked great with its fitted formal wear. Matthew Miller went back to black by colour co-ordinating some of the pieces in their collection. Xander Zhou mixed genders by using a suit (with shorts) & a garter like band. Nasir Mazhar used a soft shade of pink to give a simple yet stylish touch to their newest collection.
And with that, we await the next of the London Collection events!
